The SDK for Lumira Designer is a really powerful tool for dashboard developers: Whenever a business requirement cannot be met with the standard components, IT can create a custom component or buy a read-to-use SDK component from a partner.
The SDK has been a really successful part of Lumira, and some of the top partner components have been graphomate’s IBCS charts, Visual BI’s visualisations, and last but not least, the powerful Export toolset (biExport) provided by bi excellence.
It is obvious that the same should also be in place for SAP Analytics Cloud. And it is planned to come by the end of 2019.
The initial release will not provide datasource APIs, so creating visualisations will be restricted on custom Web Services. However, access to the Analytics Designer’s datasources will follow in fast pace.
bi excellence had the opportunity to have a first hands-on already in July 2019. Detailed findings and opinions will be shared in a separate blog. In short, the SDK is much more comfortable than in Lumira, and at the same time it keeps everything that became handy in the existing SDK.
In consequence, we have been able already to create the biExport Widget as the first ready-to-use partner Widget!
