SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is SAP’s cloud business intelligence (BI) platform. After SAP BW BEx Suite, Business Objects and Lumira Designer, SAC is the next reporting tool for BI customers. Even though Lumira will probably stay in maintenance for still quite a while for on-premise customers, SAP will most probably drive innovation only in SAP Analytics Cloud.
SAC is made specifically with the intent of providing all analytics capabilities to all users in one product. Key components are:
- reporting, dashboarding, data-discovery and visualization
- planning
- predictive analytics (machine learning and AI)
- Table export to Excel tables: export complete tables, including styles and fixed headers – even for custom components
- governance, risk, and compliance.
As a true cloud solution, SAP Analytics Cloud is convenient, secure, and scales to meet the needs of businesses of any size. Even though SAC is a cloud platform, SAP customers do not have to replicate their data into the cloud. Instead they can access their on-premise data in real-time through secure channels.
